The number of lubrication-free joints used ranges from two to six, and the robot can be equipped with various tools (e.g., grippers, suction cup, camera, etc.) as desired. robolink® robot components are characterised by their modularity.

Reducing cycletimes and increasing the complexity of assembly tasks are some of the main challenges of robotics. For pick & place tasks of e-chain parts the customer can solve this issue by using igus arms on drylin rails. Furthermore the use of two of these units help to feed one mounting unit. So one can reduce the cycle time. Now the customer is able to assemble e-chains made of two separate parts. It was possible to reduce the cycle time from 5-6 sec per pick (it is not possible to operate much faster due to missing stiffness of the igus arm) to 2.5 sec per pick with this “5+1” unit (or better 2x(5+1): 2 drylin carriages and 2 pcs roboolink arms with 5 DOF). Sales price for total 12 DOF unit will be BELOW 10,000.- €. Motion control from BECKHOFF are used in this application.
