The drylin E motor control system from igus, which offers solutions for controlling linear and rotary drives, was used for a study project at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. The Eye-Car exploration robot was designed with the idea that standardized maintenance operations in production can be taken over by robots. This allows employees to concentrate on more essential tasks. The visual control is done by a high-resolution camera. Another area of application would be a dangerous and difficult environment. The eye in the robot's name stands not only for "eye" but also for "explore your environment.
