At only 270 grams, MCG is probably the lightest cobot gripper in the world. This is made possible by its components produced by high-quality, lightweight 3-D printing. The combination of pump unit with integrated COAX® vacuum ejector technology and separate grippers allows maximum flexibility. This is further increased by the new Quick-Click-Toolchanger (QCT), which allows customers  to chang from one gripper type to another in seconds without any tools. MCG lifts up to 5 kg.

In this application, a pick-and-place solution was tested for a customer using an igus linear robot, a camera, and a conveyor belt. The individual components had to communicate seamlessly to ensure the metal part could be reliably picked up from the conveyor belt and accurately sorted. The integration of the camera for detecting and positioning the metal part, along with the precise control of the linear robot, played a crucial role in ensuring the system’s high reliability and efficiency.

In this specific customer application, a cost-effective solution for loading and unloading a laser engraving machine was sought and successfully implemented. The igus ReBeL robot takes on the task of picking up the parts to be engraved and precisely placing them into the machine. Subsequently, a linear system equipped with a laser engraving head carries out the engraving process. Once the engraving is complete, the robot removes the processed part from the machine and places it for further processing or packaging.

Thanks to the low cost of the cobot, the investment in this automated solution pays off in a very short time, making it particularly attractive for companies looking to reduce their production costs while simultaneously increasing efficiency.

In this video, we present an advanced solution for downstream sprue separation of clip bearings in injection molding production. The application utilizes a Delta robot system, IRC, rotary conveyor, an igus vacuum gripper with rotation unit, and a Zimmer gripper to optimize the process and increase efficiency.

The setup of the Delta robot and the integration of the IRC are shown, as well as the operation of the rotary conveyor and the camera for precise detection and separation of sprues. The igus vacuum gripper with rotation unit is demonstrated in action, handling the clip bearings safely and efficiently. The Zimmer gripper complements the process with its precise gripping technique. The entire system operates smoothly and efficiently thanks to reliable power and data transmission.

The benefits of this solution include increased production speed, reduced scrap, and improved workplace safety. Additionally, a low footprint is ensured, facilitating integration into various production environments.

The operation of the insertion process is shown step by step, demonstrating the precise positioning and handling of the components. The seamless integration of the insertion system into the existing injection molding machine will then be demonstrated, including the communication interfaces and control logic.

The benefits of this solution include increasing production speed and accuracy, reducing scrap and material waste, and improving worker safety by minimizing manual intervention.

An important aspect here is maintaining a low footprint.

In this application for a customer in the food industry, spices needed to be transferred from a tray into a carton. The challenge was the high precision required due to the tight tolerances. However, this was easily overcome with an igus gantry robot and a flow gripper. The gantry robot enabled precise and repeatable positioning of the spices, while the flow gripper ensured gentle handling of the delicate products. By combining these technologies, an efficient and reliable solution was achieved for the customer, significantly enhancing both product quality and production speed.

In deze specifieke klanttoepassing was de uitdaging om twee verschillende toepassingen in één systeem te implementeren. Dit was een complexe taak die zowel technische expertise als innovatieve oplossingen vereiste. In de eerste stap van het proces was het nodig om een doseereenheid te gebruiken om lijm op het onderdeel aan te brengen.

Deze stap vereiste precisie en nauwkeurigheid om ervoor te zorgen dat de lijm gelijkmatig en in de juiste hoeveelheid werd aangebracht. Het was belangrijk dat dit proces correct werd uitgevoerd om een optimale hechting tussen de componenten te garanderen. Nadat de lijm was aangebracht, moest dezelfde robot het te lijmen werkstuk oppakken met een speciale Cobot-pomp.

Deze stap vereiste een zorgvuldige behandeling en positionering van het werkstuk om ervoor te zorgen dat het correct werd uitgelijnd en voorbereid op het lijmproces. Tot slot moest de robot het werkstuk lijmen met het andere onderdeel. Deze laatste stap was cruciaal voor een sterke en duurzame verbinding tussen de twee componenten. Het was belangrijk dat de robot de exacte druk en uitlijning kon leveren die nodig waren voor een succesvolle hechting.

Al met al was deze klanttoepassing een uitdagende taak die zorgvuldige planning, nauwkeurige uitvoering en innovatieve oplossingen vereiste. Ondanks de uitdagingen was het resultaat een succesvol geïmplementeerd systeem dat efficiënt en effectief twee verschillende toepassingen kon realiseren.

Een robotlijnportaal is een specifiek type robotsysteem dat veel gebruikt wordt in verschillende industriële sectoren. Het bestaat uit een robotarm die langs een lijn of rail wordt bewogen om een reeks taken uit te voeren. In de voedingsindustrie, zoals te zien is in de klantentest van igus, kan een dergelijk systeem bijvoorbeeld worden gebruikt voor "pick-and-place"-taken.

De robotarm, uitgerust met een stroomgrijper, kan voedingsmiddelen oppakken en op een andere locatie plaatsen. Dit kan handig zijn voor verpakkingsprocessen, sorteertaken of andere toepassingen.

De video laat zien hoe het robotlijnportaal van igus in actie is en efficiënt en nauwkeurig verschillende taken uitvoert. Het zou ook de voordelen van dit systeem kunnen benadrukken, zoals de snelheid, nauwkeurigheid en de mogelijkheid om de productiviteit te verhogen en de werkdruk van werknemers te verlagen. Het zou een indrukwekkend inzicht geven in de geavanceerde robottechnologie van igus en de toepassing ervan in de voedingsindustrie.
